ALMIGHTY INSTRUMENT

Curious History
The Mellotron is an analog sampler used by classics of pop music like The Beatles in their 60s psychedelic era and afterwards. It is only superceded by the more primitive Chamberlin, which had a more wooden apearance.

The variety of sounds were limited by it's own engine, made of magnetic tapes storing only few seconds for each sound and assembled in parallel to allow for polyphony.
